We at XGEN are always looking to improve. In an effort to provide an even better, more competitive tournament experience for all teams involved, we are updating our age requirements and guidance for teams competing during the AAU season. We will be using the AAU age guidelines as they are widely accepted nationally as the competitive standard. Additionally, all coaches/ parents should have copies of birth certificates on hand to prove the age of the competitors should our tournament management or opposing teams ask for verification.

As a check and balance to what could be unfounded and unreasonable accusations, all teams requesting a verification for an opponent will have to post a fee of $100. If the athlete is the correct age, the challenging team will lose the fee. If, however, the accusation is substantiated, the $100 will be returned and the athlete will be removed from the competition and further actions against the team found to be at fault may be levied by XGEN at it’s sole discretion.

These rules are being put into place to enhance our tournaments and continue to provide a safe and fair competitive environment for all involved.

3rd Grade / 9U – can’t be older than 9 on or before 8/31/24
4th Grade / 10U – can’t be older than 10 on or before 8/31/24
5th Grade / 11U – can’t be older than 11 on or before 8/31/24
6th Grade / 12U – can’t be older than 12 on or before 8/31/24
7th Grade / 13U – can’t be older than 13 on or before 8/31/24
8th Grade / 14U – can’t be older than 14 on or before 8/31/24
9th Grade / 15U – can’t be older than 15 on or before 8/31/24
10th Grade / 16U – can’t be older than 16 on or before 8/31/24

NOTE: XGEN typically has cross-grade divisions during its tournaments to match like-skilled opponents against each other.
